Introduction

Welcome to my page! I'm thrilled that you're here. I'm Evan, co-owner of Embodied Therapy Group alongside Alyssa since 2022. With a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Colorado State University and years of experience as a therapist, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. As a Coloradan, I love the Broncos, skiing in the winter, biking in the summer, and enjoying craft beer at our local breweries.

Background and Approach

I specialize in working with trauma/PTSD, religious trauma, ADHD, and relationship/couples counseling. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and groups. While my focus has primarily been on adults, I've gained invaluable experience through training at Colorado State University and collaborating with esteemed professionals in our community. Over time, I've come to realize that the foundation of effective therapy lies in the deep connection between therapist and client. Without a strong bond built on trust, achieving the desired therapeutic outcomes becomes challenging. Therefore, I prioritize authenticity, genuine feedback, and profound empathy in my work with clients. In addition to fostering connections, I leverage various evidence-based therapeutic methods, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work (IFS), and EMDR, tailored to suit the unique needs of each individual.

Personal Beliefs and Interests

Allow me to share a fundamental belief of mine—I see the inherent goodness in all humans. It is this goodness that we all share, and my goal is to help people rediscover and reconnect with it. By nurturing a deeper connection with oneself, individuals naturally enhance their ability to connect with others in their lives, leading to more meaningful and effective relationships.

Driven by curiosity, I have developed specific areas of interest within the field of therapy. While I have many, I'll highlight two of them here. I am incredibly passionate about working with men and recognizing the harmful effects of our patriarchal culture on all individuals, regardless of gender identity. As a man myself, I understand the challenges men face in recognizing and experiencing their emotions fully. I find great fulfillment in assisting men on their journey toward reconnecting with their profound emotional experiences. I am also dedicated to helping individuals overcome trauma. Trauma can have enduring impacts on both physical and mental well-being when our nervous system becomes overwhelmed by stressors. Drawing from my extensive experience, knowledge, and personal drive, I am committed to helping individuals address and heal from trauma-related concerns.

I'm currently accepting new clients and would be delighted to connect with you through a complimentary 15-minute get-to-know-each-other phone call. If anything you've read here piques your interest, please don't hesitate to reach out!
