A Note on Embodiment

At the heart of embodiment lies attunement and presence with ourselves, where connection can be found in our most simple moments. Whether it’s the soothing rhythm of our breath, the gentleness of our heartbeat, or the hum of hunger and fullness in our belly, each sensation holds the potential to embody what it means to be fully attuned and present with ourselves. It’s a way of being that asks us to turn toward ourselves, embracing what is within us rather than turning toward numbing and disconnection.

Here, at Embodied Therapy Group, we are a compassionate collective of clinicians who celebrate and affirm the intersectional identities of our clients. Our mission is to dismantle the stories that perpetuate violence, disembodiment, and oppression, fostering an environment where warmth and acceptance flourish. Through a collaborative partnership between our clients and therapists, we prioritize the cultivation of presence, attunement, and kindness towards ourselves and our personal narratives.

Perhaps, at times, we've been led to believe that being attuned to our bodies is unsafe or undesirable. At ETG, we can begin to explore how we got here, heal our wounds, and form deep connections with ourselves and others. Together, we can rekindle a sense of wonder within ourselves and discover what it means to be truly embodied.
